The cooling system is comprised of many vital parts, however theradiator is the core of your vehicle’s cooling system. Cooling Systems minimize the heat inside the engine, which assists all additional engine components to work effectively. Inside your engine, spark plugs ignite the gas, within the engine cylinders, to generate small explosions, which move your vehicle down the road. These small explosions generate high temperatures that may damage your engine, if not controlled. In most cooling systems, a liquid coolant/antifreeze is sent through the engine by means of passages and takes in the heat given off by the engine. The air coming through the vehicle’s grill then cools the liquid. When your vehicle’s cooling system isn’t functioning properly, the temperature of your engine can get hot enough to damage itself. Heads can warp, gaskets can blow, your engine can fail, and all of those can be costly repairs.
Eventually your automobile's cooling system will develop scale deposits, which restrict coolant circulation and will require your cooling system to be flushed. Also, coolant that is not maintained becomes acidic over time and degrades the internal components of your cooling system by deteriorating the structure of hoses, gaskets and belts and premature water pump failure brought on by deteriorated seals. At CJ’s, we test the pH and specific gravity of your coolant, which lets us know if a flush should be preformed. If it is, we will perform a Valvoline VPS (Valvoline Professional Series) Coolant Exchange.
Cooling System service intervals vary greatly by the type of vehicle you have, so ask one our sales associates for your vehicle manufacturer's scheduled maintenance interval. However if you experience any of the following, be sure to get your vehicle examined.
